Salesforce · Global broadcast & imaging equipment group
Consolidating Salesforce for a global equipment group
Multiple drifting Salesforce orgs merged into one governable system, data deduplicated across instances, and risky deployments turned into reliable, repeatable releases.
The challenge
Years of growth-by-acquisition had left the group with multiple Salesforce orgs that had drifted apart, duplicate and inconsistent data across instances, and a risky, manual deployment process. Reporting couldn’t be trusted, brands’ processes clashed, and every release was a gamble.
What we did
- Consolidated multiple orgs onto one, using record-type segregation so each business unit’s processes run cleanly side by side without interfering.
- Deduplicated data across instances — built an entity-resolution process to match and merge hundreds of thousands of accounts and contacts into authoritative master records, with the primary org’s values preferred.
- Re-engineered the release process into source-controlled, PR-gated, test-backed deployments — chunked and validated, so production changes became predictable instead of risky.
- Lifted test coverage on critical Apex from near-zero to well above the platform’s requirement, fixing latent bugs along the way.
The stack
Salesforce (Sales & Service Cloud), Apex, Flows, Salesforce DX, Git-based CI/CD, custom data-matching tooling.
The result
- One consolidated, governable Salesforce org instead of several drifting ones.
- Clean, deduplicated data and reporting the business can trust.
- Reliable, repeatable production releases — no more white-knuckle deployments.
